Swimming
Of course, the pool at Château La Carrière can offer you the cooling down you might long for on a hot summer's day. But, if you feel like swimming in the wild, we recommend you go to the nearby Dordogne river. As the water levels of the Dordogne river drop in summer, beaches appear alongside its shores. Some of them are sandy, others consist of pebbles.
One of the nicest beaches in the areas is Plage du Pont de Vicq, which is situated in nearby Le Buisson de Cadouin. It is a popular beach that offers enjoyable swims in the Dordogne as well as fabulous marked trails through the Bessède Forest. A café with refreshments is nearby.
Another great beach is located just outside the beautiful village of Limeuil. The beach is fairly large and the water is shallow at the edges, making it suitable for small children to paddle in. There is car parking nearby as well as cafés and restaurants.
